Next week (October 1-7) readers of the CLARION HERALD in the Rockford area will have an opportunity to hear Pastor Edward Byrd, of Dog patch, Arkansas in a series of meetings at Landmark Church.
    This editor can firmly promise that this will be a series of messages firmly rooted in the Word of God -- something that will strengthen, bless and challenge all who give attention. I can think of NO person living to whom I would rather listen than to Edward Byrd as he "opens the Scriptures".
    Brother Byrd is highly esteemed, and dearly loved, by those who know him well. His messages are always designed to exalt the Person of Christ, and to call people from every walk of life to submit themselves under His benevolent & loving care.

    A start HAS BEEN MADE!! Brother Don Ross writes that the first offering sent directly to him for the offset press CAME FROM A MISSIONARY IN JAPAN! Who would better understand the blessing that this equipment would be than someone else who is endeavoring to herald the Gospel of our Lord's coming, glorious Kingdom in a world that is darkened by sin? And, isn't it a blessing to observe the unselfishness of one missionary who wants to share in the ministry of a brother in another part of the world?
    How seriously have YOU regarded

    "Can two walk together, except they be agreed", (Amos 3:3)? "What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols", (2 Cor. 6:l4b-l6a)?
    "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers", is the order of God's Word. "Come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty", (2 Cor. 6:14a, l7-l8).
    The "one world", ecumenical philosophy is a concept which violates God's "order" for the 20th Century as surely as did the ancient movement at Babel which God

frustrated by a confusion of tongues, (Gen. 1l:l-9). The ecumenical, one world; all men are brothers philosophy, heralded by Rome, propagated by the World Council of Churches, and embraced (consciously or unconsciously) by the participants in "KEY 73" is something that no Bible believing Missionary Baptist is willing to embrace.
    Many well intentioned people are being deceived and led astray by the well organized, highly disciplined campaign in which some 180 Rockford area churches have been giving -- at least their tacit support. Those few who are unwilling to abandon God's "order", as clearly stated in the Scriptures, are ridiculed as "do nothings", or bigots, who care only for themselves and have no concern for the souls of men. Nor do their barbed taunts go unnoticed; but they will not have the final laugh, (Psa. 2:4; 37:13; Prov. l:24-32).
    God's "order", for the accomplishment of His purpose IN THIS AGE, is through a local, New Testament Church. Herein rests Divine Authority to: Make, baptize and teach "disciples" according to the Lord's instructions. The "spirit" of ANTICHRIST rejects God's order in an attempt to make Satan sovereign over all the earth. He would establish a 3-fold ecumenist "one world" order: (1) RELIGIOUS -- symbolized by the bloody Woman of Revelation 17, and including far more than Catholicism and the Pope; she symbolizes an ecumenist movement that will have sucked in many so called "Baptists", and others who became impatient with the simplici-

ty of God's order; (2) ECONOMICAL, (Rev. 6:5-6; 13:16-17); and (3) POLITICAL, (Rev. l7:8-l7).
    Jesus Christ has NOT FORSAKEN His people, and His purpose has not failed. He is working His purpose out in a marvelous way. But many are so "tuned in" to this world until they are unable to discern the working of His Almighty hand. Such are easily duped by Satan (who appears as an angel of light), and his ministers (who come in the garb of righteousness).
    No, the Lord has not forsaken His people. Through the Spirit, He has once more become "incarnate" in His body, the church. Thus, dwelling in His holy Temple, He is IN OUR DAY carrying on His work of redemption. The beloved John warned that those who deny this (that Jesus Christ IS COME in the flesh) is "antichrist". He also warns us against bidding them "God speed" -- lest we be partakers of their evil deeds,(2 John 7-11).
    The utter inconsistency of those who "join hands" in "KEY 73" is the fact that these participants are NOT IN AGREEMENT!! They cannot decide whether GOD is a loving Father or a "bloody bully". They know not whether Jesus was really the "Son of God, or a "mere man" -- the son of a fallen woman. They do not agree whether MARY was a perpetual virgin; who was taken bodily into heaven, or whether she was a sinner and the mother of other children, -- ultimately dying like others. Nor is there agreement regarding the DEATH and RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST; some think his death a hoax -- while others expect some day to

find His bones still lying in the grave.
    The "KEY 73" camp is divided on the matter of SALVATION itself; some holding that it is OF GRACE, and eternal; others that it is OF WORKS, and may be lost. No wonder, then, that there is division on the origin of man and the universe. To one part it has "evolved" from nothing; while a few believe that God SPOKE and "created the heavens and the earth". On the nature of the church they are also divided. Is it local and visible? or universal and invisible? They want to have it both ways; but this the Word of God will not allow.
    This might go on and on: there is no agreement on the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, on the teachings of heaven & hell, or even on so basic a doctrine as the Kingdom of God .... Whether it is "already here" or yet to come.
    DO NOT BE DECEIVED! However sincere, YOU may not have God's blessing unless you FOLLOW GOD'S ORDER, (2 Tim. 2:5-7).
    If you don't understand that order, bring your BIBLE & visit the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where that "order" will be pointed out IN YOUR OWN BIBLE. WELCOME!!

    In a three quarter page paid advertisement, of the Rockford Newspapers, on September 21, a local congregation, which fraudulently, (and without His authority) insists on WEARING CHRIST'S NAME, made the

following unscriptural claim:
    "JESUS CHRIST'S KINGDOM IS HERE NOW". Though listing Scriptures from 4 different translations, not one iota of Biblical evidence was submitted as proof of such an astounding claim.
    It is difficult for me to understand how a sectarian denomination, which insists on wearing Christ's name, and falsely claims "to speak where the Bible speaks, and to be silent where the Bible is silent" can POSSIBLY BELIEVE that they are being honest with themselves, or with God! The Word of God clearly reveals that the Kingdom of God is characterized by "righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost", (Rom. 14.17). The folks who make

such a claim cannot even live in peace with their own "kind" -- fighting over orphan's homes, education, radio & TV ministries, etc. Their proselytizing shenanigans surely do not mark them as "righteous"; and, DO THEY REALLY BELIEVE that there IS A "HOLY GHOST"?
    If YOU are tired of the HYPOCRITICAL FACADE that parades under the guise of "Christian" (while denying the very Word of God) you will find a hearty WELCOME, and a "true to the Scriptures" ministry at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

    Why not RIGHT NOW cancel everything else that would hinder your attendance at these services, and be present every evening at 7:30?
    YOU'LL NEVER REGRET YOUR DECISION TO GIVE EARNEST ATTENTION TO THESE MESSAGES. So, I'll look for you on MONDAY evening.
